Wtf Have You Been?!

May 24, 2008

I’m sure someone out there in internetland has been asking that question!

Unfortunately, I’ve been working. My typical work-week at the museum has blossomed into something upwards of 56 hours, with anywhere between 24 and 48 hours of off-time in between. Body Worlds is in full-swing at the moment, and since the exhibit closes on June 1st, tickets have been selling out quite rapidly. Add to that the fact that I’m the only woman on the custodial team, and thus the only one capable of quickly and efficiently cleaning all of the women’s bathrooms in the building, and that adds up to me raking in more hours (and thus, more monies).

I’ve been having trouble keeping up with my commitments as of late. I think it’s become quite obvious that I’ve been slacking with things like… archiving speedbuilds and talking about Photohunts and whatnot. I’m rather tired when I come home from the Museum, so doing those things are more or less auto-pilot for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still fulfilling because everyone loves it and has fun, but still a bit tiring. Worry not, though– Photohunt will continue to run strong, regardless of 56-hour work weeks!

Other than that, I’ve got some family visits coming up, some random summer vacations and other adventures. Who knows– maybe I can get my work schedule to be predictable enough so that I can host multiple Photohunts throughout the week. We’ll just have to wait and see!

  1. Actually, rather than thinking about increasing Photohunt maybe you should consider reducing the schedule until you have more available time.

No one will forget about Photohunt. It’s too much fun.

56 hours a week is intense. And with the summer lots of people take time away from their routines for travel.
