Farewell Oyster Bay

February 17, 2008

Alas, Morris Vig is closing the Oyster Bay Sculpture Garden and Aquarium after its year-long reign as the most popular arts venue in Second Life. Due to various First Life commitments that he has undertaken, this decision is understandable, and I respect it wholeheartedly. I wish him the best of luck in all that he does in both of his lives.

This should not suggest, however, that Oyster Bay is going quietly into the night.  Oyster Bay is not only a collection of servers that reside near the Pacific Ocean, it is a collective consciousness of people in the Second Life art community. If one of our most beloved venues is to close down, it shall go out in a fiery and glorious blaze!

Dear readers of “Wherein I Try to Balance My First and Second Lives”, please do keep a lookout for further developments. They will be spectacular.
